After obtaining her master's degree under the supervision of Professor Suzhonggen at Department of Statistics in Zhejiang University, Hu is pursuing Ph.D. degree at Zhejiang GongShang university and makes further research on statistics. From 2001 onwards, she worked at School of Science in Zhejiang University of Science and Technology.
